Meetings are held the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month at 7 PM at Monroe Town Hall. Any changes to the schedule will be noticed electronically on the Town of Monroe website, Town of Monroe Constant Contact, and posted at Town Hall.
According to Section 60 of NYS Town Law, the Town Board, as the executive body of the town, acts as a unit and must function as a collective body. Each member has one vote.
Town Councilpersons have by state statute a term of office of four years. The term of office of Town Supervisor, is 4 years. Election of members of the Town Board is normally staggered, so that the whole Town Board will not be due for election in the same year.

When and where are Town Board Meetings held? Town Board Meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month beginning at 7:00PM. Dates are subject to change. The meetings are held at the Monroe Town Hall 1465 Orange Turnpike, Monroe, NY 10950.
Are Town Board Meetings open to the public? The Open Meetings Law gives the public the right to attend Town Board meetings and to listen to Town Board deliberations. However, the public may not participate in the meeting except upon the invitation of the Board. Time is usually allocated at the end of the first regularly scheduled meeting of the month for public participation.
Are all Town Board members available during normal working Hours? The Supervisor is available at Town Hall, Monday - Friday, 8:00AM to 4:00PM. All councilpersons perform their official duties during their off-hours from their full-time employment.
