About the Event
Calling all citizens, families, and community groups, the annual Monroe Clean Sweep has been scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026 and has been designated as “Monroe Clean Sweep Day."
Monroe Clean Sweep will be conducted from 8 AM to 12 PM, with the event beginning at the St. Anastasia Church Parking Lot in Harriman. The cleanup will focus on the portion of Route 17M from Airplane Park in the Village of Monroe to the intersection of Routes 17 and 17M the Village of Harriman. Some ancillary roads in the villages will be included depending on the number of volunteers.
We appreciate the support of local businesses and the community in sprucing up the local area. The day’s efforts are important both practically and symbolically -- as we clean up a major thoroughfare, we hope to set a pattern that others will follow and continue into the months ahead. Individuals and groups who cannot join us are encouraged to demonstrate their support by cleaning up in their local area.
Additionally, there will be free shredding services, tire disposal (no rims please), electronics disposal, and textile recycling (Please click here for complete list of items) available for residents of the Town of Monroe, Village of Monroe, and Village of Harriman!
